These Terms of Service govern your use of websites, digital products, online courses, live sessions, communities, supervision, events and other services supplied by Doctor Dance Ltd (“Doctor Dance”, “we”, “us” or “our”). They apply to purchases made through doctordance.com/, ThriveCart or other authorised Doctor Dance checkout pages, and to access provided through Doctor Dance Academy.

1. Who we are

Doctor Dance Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales with company number 11001529. Our registered office is 15 St Marys Road, Cromer, Norfolk, NR27 9DJ, United Kingdom. DOCTOR DANCE is a registered UK trademark (UK00003043193).

For questions about these Terms, contact peter@doctordance.com.

2. Scope and eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use our services. If you are under 18, you should have permission from a parent or guardian before purchasing or taking part in a paid service.

By placing an order, creating an account or using our services, you agree to these Terms and to any product-specific terms shown on the relevant sales or checkout page. If there is a conflict, the product-specific terms shown at the time of purchase will take priority for that product.

3. Orders, prices and payment

Prices are shown on the relevant sales or checkout page. Where VAT or other taxes apply, the checkout will show the amount payable as required.

Payment may be processed by third-party payment providers such as Stripe, PayPal or other providers offered through our checkout platform. We do not normally receive or store your full payment-card details.

If you choose an instalment plan, you remain responsible for the full agreed price unless you have a legal right to cancel or we agree otherwise in writing. Failure of a scheduled payment may result in restricted or suspended access while the payment issue is resolved.

4. Digital products, courses and access periods

Many Doctor Dance products include digital content such as recorded teaching, videos, downloadable materials, quizzes, reflections and other learning resources.

The access period for each product is stated on the relevant sales or checkout page. Where a product includes 12 months of access, that period normally runs from the date of purchase unless we state otherwise.

Access is personal to the purchaser and must not be shared. You must keep your login details secure and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

We may make reasonable updates to course structure, lesson order, platform presentation or supporting materials where this improves delivery or reflects current evidence. We will not remove the core value of a paid programme without a reasonable alternative.

5. Live seminars, office hours, supervision and events

Some programmes include live seminars, office hours, group discussions, supervision, coaching or other scheduled sessions.

Live sessions may run during published teaching terms rather than every week of the year. Dates, times and frequency may change occasionally because of illness, holidays, technical problems, speaker availability or other reasonable operational factors. Where a session is cancelled, we will normally reschedule it or provide a reasonable alternative.

Where a programme includes individual supervision or coaching, the number, duration and booking period are stated on the product page. Sessions must usually be used within the programme access period unless we agree otherwise.

Supervision and coaching supplied through Doctor Dance Academy are educational and developmental. They do not create a clinical, medical, therapeutic, legal or regulated professional relationship.

6. Community participation

Some programmes include access to a student or professional community. Community access is intended to support learning, discussion and respectful exchange.

You agree not to post unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, defamatory, harassing, threatening, misleading or commercially exploitative content; disclose another person’s confidential information; spam or solicit members without permission; or upload material that infringes intellectual-property rights.

Please do not copy, record, screenshot, redistribute or publicly share another member’s posts, images, comments or personal experiences without their permission.

We may moderate, remove or restrict content or access where reasonably necessary to protect participants, the learning environment, our systems or our legal obligations.

7. Recordings of live sessions

Some live teaching sessions may be recorded for enrolled students. Where recording is planned, we will provide appropriate notice. Participants may usually choose whether to contribute verbally, use a camera or appear by name, subject to the practical requirements of the session.

Private supervision sessions are not routinely recorded by Doctor Dance unless this is agreed in advance.

8. Certificates, CPD and professional status

Where a programme includes a certificate, CPD hours, Scholar pathway or other recognition, the eligibility requirements are stated within the programme.

A Doctor Dance certificate records learning or assessed learning completed through the relevant programme. Unless expressly stated otherwise, it does not confer a regulated professional licence, clinical qualification, protected professional title or authority to practise outside your existing scope of competence.

9. Cancellations, refunds and digital content

9.1 Your statutory rights

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

For many distance contracts, UK consumers normally have a 14-day cancellation period. Different rules may apply to digital content and to services that begin during that period.

9.2 Immediate access to digital content

If you ask us to provide digital content immediately, we may ask you to give express consent to supply beginning before the end of the 14-day cancellation period and to acknowledge that your cancellation right in relation to that digital content may be lost once supply begins, to the extent permitted by law.

9.3 Services beginning during the cancellation period

If you expressly ask us to begin a service during the 14-day cancellation period and then exercise a valid right to cancel, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for services already supplied, where the law permits this.

9.4 Product-specific refund terms

Any additional refund guarantee or product-specific cancellation arrangement will be stated on the relevant sales or checkout page. If no additional guarantee is stated, refunds are handled in accordance with applicable consumer law and these Terms.

To request cancellation or a refund, email peter@doctordance.com with your name, order details and the product concerned.

10. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, all Doctor Dance course content, videos, recordings, worksheets, text, graphics, slides, downloads, logos, trademarks and teaching materials are owned by Doctor Dance Ltd or used under licence.

Your purchase gives you a personal, limited, non-transferable right to use the materials for your own learning and, where appropriate, to apply ideas within your own lawful professional practice. It does not give you the right to copy, reproduce, resell, publish, upload, distribute, teach from, license or create competing products from our materials without written permission.

You remain responsible for ensuring that any application of the learning in your own work is appropriate, lawful and within your competence and professional scope.

11. Health, movement and participation

Doctor Dance provides educational and wellbeing-focused material relating to dance, movement and psychology. Our services are not medical treatment, physiotherapy, psychotherapy, diagnosis, rehabilitation or clinical care, unless a specific service expressly states otherwise and is delivered by a suitably qualified professional within that scope.

Movement and dance can involve physical and psychological demands. You are responsible for deciding whether participation is appropriate for you and for seeking professional advice where needed. Work within your own limits and stop if you experience pain, dizziness, unusual shortness of breath, distress or other concerning symptoms.

Nothing on our websites or in our programmes should be treated as a substitute for individual medical or mental-health advice from an appropriately qualified professional.

12. No guarantee of outcomes

Learning, health, wellbeing, business and professional outcomes vary between individuals and settings. We do not guarantee that a programme will produce a particular physical, psychological, academic, professional, financial or commercial result.

13. Third-party services

We use third-party platforms and providers to deliver parts of our services, which may include checkout and course platforms, payment processors, video-conferencing services, website hosting, email systems and analytics tools.

Your use of those services may also be subject to the provider’s own terms and privacy information. We are not responsible for temporary outages or failures caused by third-party systems outside our reasonable control, although we will take reasonable steps to restore or provide alternative access where appropriate.

14. Acceptable use and security

You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to our websites, platforms, accounts, networks or data; introduce malicious code; interfere with normal operation; scrape or extract protected content at scale; impersonate another person; or use our services for unlawful purposes.

15. Suspension or termination

We may suspend or terminate access where there is a serious or repeated breach of these Terms, non-payment, unlawful activity, misuse of content, harassment of other participants, or a material security risk.

Where reasonably possible, we will explain the issue and provide an opportunity to resolve it before permanent termination, unless immediate action is necessary to protect others, our systems or our legal position.

16. Availability and changes

We aim to keep our services available and current, but continuous uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed. Maintenance, updates, internet failures, platform outages and events outside our reasonable control may occasionally affect availability.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of your purchase will continue to govern that purchase where required by law, unless a later change is necessary for legal, security or operational reasons and does not unfairly reduce your contractual rights.

17. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Subject to those protections and to applicable consumer law, Doctor Dance Ltd will not be responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made, or for business losses suffered by a consumer acting outside a business purpose.

If you use our services for business or professional purposes, any additional limitations stated in a separate written business agreement may also apply.

18. Events outside our reasonable control

We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control, including serious illness, internet or platform failure, industrial action, natural disasters, public-health restrictions, war, terrorism, civil emergency or government action. Where this materially affects a paid service, we will take reasonable steps to reschedule, substitute or otherwise address the affected element.

19. Privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. You should read that policy alongside these Terms.

20. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer resident in the United Kingdom, you may bring legal proceedings in the courts available to you under applicable UK consumer law. If you access our services from outside the UK, mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence may also apply.
